We are a research group at the interface of theoretical condensed matter physics and computational materials science. We investigate hidden electronic phases in quantum materials that can be induced through vibrational excitations of the atoms in solids.

Lab on the move
The JuraschekLab has recently moved from the TU Eindhoven to the University of Fribourg and the Paul Scherrer Institute. Our group stays connected across three countries.

Chiral Phonons @ DPG Spring Meeting 2026
For the third time, the spring meeting of the German Physical Society will host a focus session on chiral phonons and crystals coupled to magnetic order, including invited and contributed talks.

The 2025 chiral phonons workshop at the SPICE center of the JGU Mainz was a great success. A growing field of experts gathered to exchange cutting-edge research on phonon angular momentum and chirality.
