Verena Brehm, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral researcher (TU Eindhoven)
Verena is a postdoctoral researcher who joined the group in March 2025. She investigates emerging phenomena from phonon angular momentum and spin transport. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and her M.Sc. from the University of Konstanz.
Daniel A. Bustamante Lopez, M.Sc.
Postdoctoral researcher (University of Fribourg)
Daniel is a postdoctoral researcher who joined the group already while completing his Ph.D. at Boston University. He has a background in ultrafast pump-probe experiments, but discovered an enthusiasm for theory and is now working on transport of chiral phonons.
Pooja Rani, M.Tech., M.Sc.
Ph.D. student (TU Eindhoven)
Pooja is an applied physics Ph.D. student who joined the group in October 2022. She investigates how coherently driven phonons can be used to modulate magnetic and ferroelectric properties of layered 2D materials. Pooja obtained her M.Tech. from IIT Delhi and her M.Sc. from Chaudhary Devi Lal University.
Carolina Paiva, M.Sc.

Carolina is a physics Ph.D. student who is working in the group since March 2023, jointly supervised by Prof. Roni Ilan at Tel Aviv University. She investigates how topological systems can be engineered through coherent excitations of the crystal lattice. Carolina obtained her M.Sc. from the University of Lisbon.
Omer Yaniv, M.Sc.

Omer joined the group as a Ph.D. student in June 2023. He investigates how phonon polaritons can be manipulated with terahertz cavities. Omer obtained his M.Sc. from the Weizmann Institute of Sciences.
Yu-Chi Huang, M.Sc.

Yu-Chi joined the group as a Ph.D. student in May 2025. She is working on the fundamentals of chirality and angular momentum transfer. Yu-Chi obtained her M.Sc. from the Institute of Science Tokyo.
Jolijn Dellevoet, M.Sc.

Jolijn joined the group as a Ph.D. student in December 2025. She is working on ultrafast control of ferroaxiality. Jolijn obtained her M.Sc. from TU Eindhoven.
